All My Shazam and Sound Hound Tags From the Past Year

My phone’s been acting crusty.  Real crusty.  As such, I’m going to attempt to re-flash and upgrade it to Froyo, but with that goes ALL my data, including my precious music tags.  It’s kinda interesting to see my recent obsession with country music reflected in these, I wonder if this is a fad or something that’s going to be around for the long haul.

So here they are, backed up, safe and sound:

Uusi Fantasia - “Meikku”

Great track from this Helsinki-based group, I especially love the horns.  Note that this is only a snippet of the whole song.

Fun song from this Irish comedy duo, I can’t get the chorus out of my head. And seriously, fuck your Suburu, I’ve a horse outside.

This is what I think Fall sounds like. (Also, this isn’t very new music, but I felt like sharing anyway).

Zola Jesus - “Night”

This song kinda reminds of The Knife or Fever Ray with it’s dark, atmospheric sounds.  Bonus points for her being from Wisconsin.

Die Antwoord - “Enter The Ninja”

So, I’m not sure how much of their image is an act and how much is real, but maintaining that mystique is probably why I love these guys SO MUCH. Hopefully their album comes out sooner than later.

Here’s an “interview” with the group which seriously made me laugh out loud:

Gil Scott-Heron - “Me And The Devil”

I’ve never really followed Gil Scott-Heron very closely but apparently he’s coming out with a new album and this song will be on it.  I thought it sounded interesting enough to post, so please enjoy!

Ariel Pink - “Politely Declined”

I don’t know why I find this so awesome, but I’m finding it REALLY awesome.  I think it’s because it sounds like either some goofy record you bought solely for it’s absurd cover at Goodwill (I do this a lot), or like some communist-era Latvian recording you might find at your grandparents’ house.
